What better way to open our blog than to address the bird in the room?
See below our thought process for naming our fledgling company the way we have, and gain an insight into some of our core values which have influenced the ideas behind the name.
First and foremost, we really like the connotation of strength, trust and longevity; the strong joint, link or bind that clients and consultants will generate over time. The join between the two is strong and lasting.
"We really need this to Dovetail" - a phrase we hear all the time, the context changes from sector to sector, but the crucial element here is that the success or failure of foodservice equipment projects is often directly influenced by how well the various disciplines work together. We are able to join your design team and co-ordinate with other key stakeholders from the very earliest stages of a project, through to handover and beyond.
Our design work and specifications are highly detailed to allow catering equipment contractors to accurately provide quotations in a like-for-like manner, allowing for a seamless transition from design to installation. We don't sell or supply equipment ourselves, but we are familiar with the processes and the requirements from our years of industry experience.
Onward involvement which does not end at project handover, we can allow for support through the installation portion of the works, then on to snagging and chef support in the kitchen to ensure the best transition (or dovetail) from installation into use, and long-term operation.
Design consultancy dovetails with management consultancy, we are one of the only consultancy firms with active chef’s and experienced catering, cleaning and food purchasing managers to help plan the objectives for your operation. This enables solid justification for any proposed investment of funds and avoids over specification of equipment too.
Then of course, there is a literal connection, a nod to the manufacturing specifications at the core of any good bespoke counter build, we thought about a suitable stainless-steel alternative, but 'ground and polished weld' didn't quite have the same ring to it!
We hope this has provided some insight into the company name, please read some of our other articles and get in touch when you're ready to talk.
